International action

Gone are the days when our only international footballers were half the Jamaica squad - these days we've got players jetting off to all corners of the world, in their attempts to reach the World Cup in 2006.

Yakubu has had the most success, scoring the equaliser for Nigeria in their disappointing 1-1 draw in Gabon. Richard Hughes also almost got on the scoresheet; his effort for Scotland against Norway appeared to cross the line, but the referee decided otherwise. He played the whole match as his side crashed to a 1-0 defeat, although Nigel Quashie missed out through injury.

Ricardo Fuller played ninety minutes for Jamaica against Panama, the game ending 1-1. The striker had a good match and set up Whitmore with a brilliant pass late on, although the former Hull man couldn't make the most of the chance. Former striker Deon Burton maintained a steady position on the bench for the game.

Shaka is still yet to keep a clean sheet in any competition this season as St. Kitts and Nevis popped one past him. Ultimately it made no difference, as his Trinidad and Tobago team notched up an impressive 5-1 victory. The match represented a small personal triumph for Hislop, as he has been overlooked for national selection in the last couple of years.

Three players currently on loan also got a slice of action - Gary O'Neil and Richard Duffy came face to face for their respective U21s last night, as Gazza's England ran out 2-0 winners over Wales. Ivica Mornar, meanwhile, watched Croatia beat Bulgaria 2-0 from the comfort of the bench.
