Michael Appleton has exercised the option to extend Marko Futacs' stay at Portsmouth for another year.
The big Hungarian originally arrived at Fratton Park in the summer of 2011 for only a year but the Pompey manager shrewdly decided to take up the option of another season after speaking to Futacs' agent two weeks before handing him his debut.
Futacs has declared that he is happy to stay at Pompey just recently, which is good for him as it seems 'Appy was crafty by extending his spell at the club without consulting the striker first!
Pompey fans will be happy to hear the good news given that there were fears that another club may poach the impressive 21-year-old on the cheap and this decision shows that Appleton has a good sense of foresight about him.
Given the inevitable whirlwind of bad news that's on the horizon given the probable new owners' plans for the club, that foresight is going to come in handy during this year!
