Egg on our own faces: an apology

Last week we ran a story stating that the official site's "haste to deny stories others get first" made it look "uninformed and desperate for hits." However in writing this, Fratton Faithful itself laid itself open to criticism.

This is due to the fact that we were overlooking one key fact: Prosinecki had not been apporached by Bayern Munich and infact never will be. I'm actually a fan who feels The News does a good job so when they have quotes from key figures in Pompey setup I believed them - without checking it out with the club first.

In all honesty, I don't see Fratton Faithful as a competitor to the OS, I feel that readers get different things from both sites and the OS will always be a port of call for Pompey fans - partly because it has access to the players and partly because it makes the club money.
