Many Pompey fans were worried that the hugely ambitious Frenchman would leave the club after putting himself in the shop window following some outstanding performances since January.
However, Diarra has told Sky Sports that he is happy at Pompey because he is playing regularly and the club are on the verge of winning the FA Cup.
He said "I want to win something with Portsmouth and I will be here next season."
That statement probably won't put the vultures off for good as his long term ambition is still to play in the Champions League. Unless he can achieve that goal with Pompey of course!
Still, this news is welcome as long as the statement is true and I don't see why such an honest player would lie.
