Lassana Diarra has agreed terms with Real Madrid and will join them on the 1st of January subject to a medical which takes place tomorrow.
It's believed that the French midfield will sign a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Spanish champions despite late interest from Manchester City. Pompey will receive around £20 million for the midfielder, although some of that fee will go to Arsenal as part of Diarra's sell-on clause.
Tony Adams brought on Diarra yesterday at Bolton in what will surely be his final appearance for the club, which would explain why he came over to the travelling Pompey fans on his own yesterday and applauded us for the support and to say his goodbyes.
Now we just have to find a replacement....
