After all this aggro about David Nugent leaving Pompey on loan, it looks like he will stay at the club until the end of the season at least.
That decision makes sense as Defoe is cup-tied meaning we only have two available strikers to play against West Brom in Baros and Kanu who can't last 90 minutes anyway.
Therefore it's good to have Nugent available as he is a proven goalscorer against Championship opposition and considering there are no other top flight clubs left in the cup he may have the chance make an impact and do something to justify his huge price tag.
Stoke and Ipswich were both interested in taking the former Preston forward on loan but Jim Magilton got frustrated and pulled out of any proposed deal a couple of weeks back whilst Tony Pulis has revealed today that Harry wants to keep him at Pompey.
So the opportunity has presented itself to David Nugent to cement himself in Pompey folklore should things not go to plan at Wembley. The question is; will he take it?
