It is a strange time to be watching football and has angered fans who can't get the time off work or even those who can as they face a mad rush to get to Pompey on time. But as we know with football these days, money always comes before the needs of loyal supporters.
Tickets for this game go on sale tomorrow for season ticket holders in the Fratton End with South Stand ST holders buying their tickets this Friday and North Stand ST holders buying theirs on the following Monday or Tuesday if you sit in the Upper or Lower sections respectively.
Members can buy their tickets on the Wednesday and then tickets will go on general sale on the Thursday. Tickets can be purchased via ticketmaster or by simply going to the Pompey ticket office.
The return leg in Guimaraes is on Thursday, October 2nd with an even more abnormal 9:30pm kick-off time and package details can be found on the official Pompey website. They're not cheap!
Pompey's Carling Cup tie with Chelsea has been confirmed to be played on Wednesday, September 24th with a more traditional 7:45pm kick-off time. Ticket details will be released next week.
In other news, Jerome Thomas has a stress fracture of the back (ouch!) which will keep him out of action for at least three weeks.
Alan Curbishley has also resigned from his job as West Ham manager so expect the inevitable rumours of Harry returning "home" once again....
