The lanky striker is set for a routine medical in the next 48 hours (he hasn't already had one as some reports claimed earlier) and then the finishing touches just need to be applied to the deal so that Crouch can once again (presumably) don the number 9 shirt in Pompey colours.
I'd have expected this deal to go through a bit quicker, so perhaps club officials are holding back to announce a double signing like they did last year with Nugent and Utaka?
Whatever it is, It's now virtually certain that Crouch will be playing for us and not even Charlton Athletic can scupper the deal this time!
