Conor Chaplin has signed a contract extension that will theoretically keep him at Portsmouth until the summer of 2019.
In reality, this deal will simply mean that Pompey will get a bigger transfer fee for their most prized asset if/when he leaves Fratton Park. The 19-year-old is already being coveted by Championship clubs and it won't be long until the higher echelons of English football beckon for young Conor.
Still, he has a lot to learn yet before he can be considered a future Premier League star but he undoubtedly has the talent to go far. Let's just hope that Pompey can keep hold of him a while longer and reap the benefits of having him in the team, now that Paul Cook is starting him regularly!
