Burton joins Bees

Deon Burton, who once cost Derby County £1million to pry away from Fratton Park in 1997, has joined Brentford, who narrowly avoided relegation last term, on a free transfer.

Burton rejoined Portsmouth in 2002 but only made five starts in two years and failed to make a mark in loan spells with Walsall and Swindon.
