Steve Cotterill has emerged as a prime candidate to replace Alex McLeish at Birmingham City once the resignation issue at the relegated club is resolved.
The Birmingham hierarchy has rejected McLeish's resignation until a compensation package can be agreed as the former Blues boss looks to join arch rivals Aston Villa.
Once that situation is resolved, it is believed that Cotterill is one of a few candidates that the relegated Premier League club are interested in although the Birmingham chairman has denied any approach and there has been no comment from Portsmouth officials either.
The bookies currently make the Pompey manager the favourite to become the next Birmingham boss with odds as short as 2/1 being offered. Other candidates include Billy Davies, Roberto Di Matteo and Dave Jones but it might be that those names are linked with our club in the near future if there is truth to this story.
So, after a period of virtually no news whatsoever there has now been a threat of a lawsuit, transfer embargo and our manager leaving for pastures new and there is still no public word from our owners yet.
I expect a lot will happen this week. A Portsmouth fan's life is never dull, is it?
