Pompey's clash with Birmingham today has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The heavy rain overnight has deemed the pitch unplayable, according to match referee Anthony Taylor. He said that he could not guarantee the safety of the players or the match officials and there was a good chance that had the game started, it wouldn't have finished and that the game would have been a farce anyway.
Much like the England Cricket team, the weather may well have done us a favour given that we have our players away in Africa and were without O'Hara and porbably Boateng too.
Conspiracy theorists will suggest that this is all too convenient given the amount of players we have missing which co-incides with Birmingham's excellent run of form.
Still, at least we won't be treated to any "Leicester" style game today. The match is to be rescheduled in due course.
