Andy Awford has recalled Ryan Bird from Cambridge United for the final seven games of the season.
Some Pompey fans had been clamouring for his return as he scored nine goals for the U's since joining them on January 24th. His scoring record at non-league level is impressive but never really shone during his time at Pompey so far.
Is he the answer to our goalscoring problems? He has an advantage over the likes of Jervis, Taylor, Drennan and Agyemang as he has found his scoring touch but he doesn't bring much else to his game. Jervis works harder, Taylor links play better, Drennan is quicker and Agyemang more skilful.
However, it won't really matter how the goals are scored right now and recalling Bird can't do any harm. Maybe he is the answer to Pompey's goalscoring problems?
