Leyton Orient have signed Nigel Atangana on an 18-month contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has found first team opportunities difficult to come by despite being named August's player of the month. A poor first half performance at Oxford in September saw him dropped and he has struggled for game time since.
It's a shame that we never got to see the best of Nigel after such a strong start this season. However, it should be remembered that it looked like he may have left Pompey in the summer as his poor passing and positioning made him a prime target for the chop.
He had got better by the time the season began but Paul Cook obviously doesn't rate him and has Michael Doyle, Ben Close, Danny Hollands and Adam Barton all able to play in the same position, so this may also be a case of reshaping the squad by using the money received for Atangana to strengthen the squad elsewhere.
No doubt all Pompey fans will wish him well as he certainly gave his all during his 48 appearances for the club and let's hope he doesn't come back to haunt his former club when Orient come to Fratton Park next month.
