It is reported that Latvian authorities have frozen the assets of Vladimir Antonov following the takeover of Krajbanka.
The assets include 14 luxury cars valued at around a million euros and a house outside Jurmala, a seaside city near Riga.
Regulators will file for Krajbanka's insolvency during the week with Antonov and his partner accused of laundering over £300 million via forgery of documents.
Whilst this news comes as no surprise at all, it may have a huge impact on Portsmouth Football Club. It may be possible that the club will be placed into administration once again (meaning another points deduction) and there is talk of Balram Chainrai once again seizing control of the club should the current owners fail to pay what is owed to him as part of the deal to sell the club in the first place.
This latest development in the ongoing saga of Pompey's ownership raises many questions. Hopefully some of them can be answered during this week.
