The Portsmouth FC official website has posted a statement which says that Sulaiman Al-Fahim has secured new finance in principle to inject into the club.
The statement also states that Al-Fahim has agreed to attend a meeting with Pompey supporters' groups before the Everton game, which I hope I will be able to attend.
Peter Storrie said in the statement that Al-Fahim has been in America to secure the new cash injection, something which he told the Pompey Virtual Alliance on Saturday.
The words "in principle" are very ambigous and, like virtually every other Pompey fan, I'll believe that this new cash has arrived when work has begun on the new training ground as that would be sufficient proof of funds.
In the meantime there has been talks of a protest against Al-Fahim at the Everton game. My advice would be to hold on that and wait to see what the owner has to say before the Everton game. Besides, what can you hope to achieve with this protest anyway? I don't think it will have any influence on the current situation and the energy would be better spent on getting behind the team.
Though I completely agree that Al-Fahim is going to have to come up with something concrete between now and the end of the Everton game. He talks a good game but now is the time to see action if he doesn't want to see things turn sour very quickly.
