Executive chairman Peter Storrie confirmed last week that no more players wil be leaving Fratton Park this month and now Adams has revealed that he wants to add some new face's before the window closes at the end of the month.
"I'd like some reinforcements," the Pompey boss told Sky Sports News.
"It may be six or seven or it may be one or two but I need some reinforcements
"I think it is obvious which areas. I've got no midfield players at the club, only Mvuemba who is a kid.
"We've let a centre-forward go to Tottenham. We have David Nugent and Kanu but we'd like four.
"It would be great if we could get another one in that department."
