Pompey's match with Accrington Stanley has been postponed because the pitch at Fratton Park has become waterlogged, with standing water covering parts of the surface already.
A new date will be announced in due course, which will likely be a Tuesday night and tickets bought for tomorrow's game will be valid for the rearranged fixture.
This could be good news for Richie Barker as his squad has been hit with a lot of injuries recently and some of the players may be suffering from a bit of fatigue. It also gives the manager more time to bring in some extra players before James Beattie's men come down for the match.
It's a good call by the referee to call the game off as early as he did having been on the receiving end of a late postponement myself last season when officials left it until late in the morning to call off Pompey's original trip to Hartlepool when some fans were already halfway up the country by that point.
At least the Accrington fans have been saved a wasted journey as well as the home supporters who don't live locally. Now Pompey fans are going to have to find something productive to do with their time tomorrow instead.
