The Manager: Steve Cotterill

Left Portsmouth to replace Steve McClaren after Forest's poor start to the season, but we all know about the man that used to be at the helm at Fratton Park.

Known for his dire "Cotterball" approach, Pompey fans were surprised when Forest paid the club compensation for his services after a terrible run of results in 2011.

He was praised for the job he did last season but Reds fans will be expecting much more in the coming months. They should probably prepare to be disappointed.

The Fans

For supporters of such a huge club, Forest fans seem to be rather humble as the last few generations have seen little success and even some time in the third tier. Despite being just across the bridge, Forest fans consider Notts County inferior rivals to Derby County due to the Brian Clough factor.

Famous Forest fans include golfer Lee Westwood and comedian Sue Pollard.

Forest fan Marky on the upcoming season:

Hopefully we will be pushing in and around the top 6 again. We've lost a lot of players but we've replaced most of them with players of better quality. Still desperate for a few more players but it looks unlikely that we will get anyone else in.

If we had signed a few more players then we should have been looking at the top 2 to be honest. However, I think the league looks very strong this year and I reckon we will finish somewhere between 10th and 14th.

The Ground: The City Ground (Capacity: 30,500)

The home of Nottingham Forest is on the banks of the River Trent. Pre-match you can cross the bridge to Meadow Lane, the home of Notts County and have a drink there before going back across the "divide" so to speak.

Forest Exterior

Pompey fans are sat in the lower tier of the Bridgford Stand where the acoustics are good but the view can be poor from the back area. Opposite this stand is the Trent End.

Trent End

To the left is the "Main Stand" which is the oldest part of the ground. This is due to be redeveloped should Forest ever stop losing play-off semi-finals and get to the Premier League.

Main Stand

To the right is the Brian Clough Stand, named after the greatest manager England never had. If Pompey ever had a new stadium could you imagine the "Steve Cotterill Stand" being built!?
