The Manager: Nigel Pearson
Pearson's managerial career began at Carlisle where he orchestrated their famous escape from relegation in 1999 courtesy of that infamous last gasp goal from Jimmy Glass.
After caretaker roles with the England U-21's, West Brom and Newcastle and scraping survival with Southampton at the end of the 2007/2008 campaign, Pearson made his name with Leicester the following year by winning League One and then leading the Foxes to play-off defeat in the Championship the following season.
Rather than stay at Leicester, Pearson decided to make the move to relegated Hull in the summer of 2010 but soon returned in November 2011 when he replaced the sacked Sven Goran-Eriksson following a poor start to the season.
The Fans
Due to the nasty events after the play-off semi-final of 1993 there is still some slight ill-feeling between the older generation of Pompey and Leicester fans but the needle seems to be felt more from our supporters than theirs due to the fact they usually beat us.
Famous Foxes include Gary Lineker, Rugby World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson and rock band Kasabian.
Leicester fan Harry Gregory on the upcoming season:
The aim is obiviously promotion. Most Leicester fans are in a bit of dream world at the moment and they are beginning to ask (demand?) glory. Of couse, I hope we get promoted but differing reasons and that's all the expense made the summer which is completely unsustainable at Championship level. We all know that can chase your back up.
All this said Matt Mills, Paul Konchesky, Michael Johnson and the signing of Gelson Fernandes are real quality additions and you'd think their quality would stand out but it didn't for Cardiff last season. Sven's notion seems to be that the strong squad is all-important in ensuring success across a 46-season.
Pre-season has been mostly played abroad with the majority against superb opposition, so it's difficult to establish how good this new team is. If we are going up, good start is very important but it's a bit of an ask for eleven players to develop an understand. Either way, I suspect it's going to be another rollercoaster ride of a season.
The Ground: The King Power Stadium (Capacity: 32,500)
You read that title correctly! The "crisp bowl" is no longer known as the Walkers Stadium after the owners renamed the ground to fit with their own company name. That means this photo of the outside of the ground is now slightly redundant!
Leicester's stadium is a little boring like many "new" grounds. This is a photo of the West Stand taken from the South East Stand where Pompey fans are seated. As you can see, if it is sunny then you're likely to get the rays in your eyes.
This is the West Stand before kick off when a tribute banner for Leicester player Yuki Abe and the victims of the Japanese tsunami was unveiled.
This is the Family Stand. Nothing special as it looks the same as the others.
This is the South Stand Kop - not quite as famous as its Liverpool namesake.
